Silicone Additive

Silicone copolymer primarily used in solvent-based coatings and ink formulations to eliminate cratering, improve slip, anti-blocking and flow. It also prevents separation problems like pigment floating, flooding, silking and provides mar resistance. Maintains uniform pigment dispersion.
The paint additive lowers the surface tension of the paint solvents and presumably coats the individual pigment particles to prevent them from coalescing. The additive prevents one pigment of a multi-pigment system from agglomerating in masses or floating to the surface of the paint film.
